[Kaitwo's rate of unaugmented recovery, it turns out, is excruciatingly slow. he's been bedridden for at least two weeks, although at least he's no longer relying on the painkillers anymore. he's started feeding himself, too. still, he has made it abundantly clear that he does not feel up to moving anywhere under his own power yet.

...which makes it all the more alarming when Len comes to check on him next, and finds nothing more than an empty bed.]
