pshhh, who needs to keep posts in chronological order to the plot?
[when left to his own devices, you could set a clock to Kaito's daily routine. for the people who care enough to remember it, this makes him easy to track down. mid-morning? taking advantage of everyone being in the labs to clean the house. afternoon? quietly watching whichever section of the labs are busiest (or reminding Len to eat lunch, if it's precisely 12 o'clock). late afternoon? in his room, either observing social interaction over the internet or analyzing a movie or tv show.
...except for today, when he's not in his room at all.]

...well, until he hears the door open. turning his head to see who it is]
Hello, Father.
no subject
Hello, Kaito.
What brings you out here? You're usually in your room around this time.

[sitting down next to him]
freakin' extra spaces!!!
[...speaking of those processes and priorities. politely waiting for Len to sit down and then leaning against him '-']
... I wanted to sit in the sun because it's warm.

Yes, within a certain temperature range.
[looking at the palms of his hands, and then holding them up to the sun]
Having a lower contrasting temperature is also preferable. It makes the sensation more tactile.
no subject
Yes, I'd imagine so. The feeling of a cooler temperature warming up...
no subject
This is true, although I was referring to the contrast between the parts of me that are in shadow as compared to the parts that are not. That contrast in feeling is very similar to the contrast experienced when I physically touch something warm.

Kaito-nii? What are you doing out here?
no subject
... You're going to eat outside?
no subject
[slightly more awkward with emotionless robro out here but that's fine. it's not like he's gonna eat her food :|b
sets down her little basket and lays out the blanket]

...it's warm, and that's agreeable (he wouldn't have come out if it hadn't been). she's right.]
... It is. It's not so warm that either of us would overheat, but not so cold to cause discomfort.
no subject
And there's a nice little breeze going, and the sky is so clear...
[starts to unpack the basket. it's just a few store-bought onigiri, a candy bar, a can of tea and a mikan, but she spreads it out like a tiny feast]

May I ask a question I likely would not fully understand the answer to yet?
no subject
Hm? Sure, I guess so.

... Huh.
I don't know, they just taste good. They're sweet and kind of tangy, and really juicy...
no subject
So there are a number of things you like about them, but none are immediately apparent as the primary reason you enjoy them.
