[Settling, aiming to quiet down and let him.]

[ shuffles his wings with another of those low rumbles and settles to do just that. time for several hours of contented digestion. ]

[She's patient and vigilant, idly considering crafting to keep herself busy but deciding against it. It won't kill her to stay still a while... Right?]

especially since it's almost eerily silent. he'd told her keeping watch wasn't necessary for a reason: pretty much all the wildlife in the area bigger than a hare made itself scarce when he showed up. there are none of the usual small noises of animals living out their lives. ]

[...she can't help it. given too much time and quiet, she pulls out her harp and begins to sing.]

[ he doesn't obviously react, but if she's keeping an eye on him as well his eartufts slowly prick up ]

[it's wordless, for now. just a tune. beyond that, too, it's clearly spontaneous, because sometimes she pauses and alters a part she's just sung.]

[ just barely slitting his eyes open ]

[it takes her only a few moments to notice, and she breaks off the song.]

Ah, sorry. Did I wake you?

I wasn't asleep.
