was_no_monster[sometimes, the woods and the mountains and the wilds aren't enough for him. while he's at home in them, that doesn't make them home.
on those nights, when he wants to run but feels out of place in his usual haunts, he slips out and heads not away from humanity, but toward it. he flies between tall buildings, jumps from roof to roof; pads silently through alleyways and past doorways on four feet and two.
the city was his home first, and in many ways his heart never left it.]

Aug. 10th, 2013 02:19 pmwas_no_monster[seeing Pokemon at the local cafe is not that unusual, although normally they're the smaller, "cute" ones, brought in by trainers attracted to the cafe's fancy atmosphere and delicate baked goods.
seeing Pokemon by themselves, however, is. especially when the Pokemon in question is a six-foot tall cat-type bristling with both fur and muscles. ...even if it is wearing a rather dapper jacket and shirt. and genteelly nibbling at a Poffin while reading a book.

this is no exception.
tonight, he gives her the Sky Gardens. the climb up is long, but the forest park at the top of the staircases is quiet and peaceful, even on the cliffs that overlook the alien city down below. here, he is no more than a deeper shadow under a particular tree, waiting patiently for his new dreamer to come.
he's paid his end of the bargain in full. now, it's her turn.]

beginning with the paint. it's a lovely, soft sky blue, her favorite color, and she's taking great glee in brushing it onto the plain walls with wide strokes. ...even if it's getting all over her, too.]

he, of all beings, can't focus. it would be funny, if it weren't infuriating. what use are his power, his mind, if he can't control them?
(they're the only things he has.)
but his frustration doesn't prevent him from dropping out of meditation at every out-of-place sound that might be a human footstep. or from checking the caves again and again for minds that think like his own, far more often then he strictly needs to to know he remains safe.
stupid. he doesn't even know if the doctor will be returning.]
