KAITO: SHADOW GARBAGE AU EDITION OPEN POST

Because sometimes you love both the split personality and inner demons tropes way too much, and there's only one way to handle it.

THE AU IS RIDICULOUS, but all you really need to know is Kaito got humanity's malice dumped into his head along with ridiculous power, and his way of coping with both that and the trauma involved was to shove it all in with everything else he represses the heck out of and then completely dissociate himself from it. End result: what he thinks of as his inner monster has completely split off into a personality of its own, following the imagery and pattern left behind by the Shadow from that one time the Vocaloid Dressing Room had a Persona event.

(Please don't judge me.)

...It isn't "all right," exactly... Even if I can handle it, I don't want to be hungry forever. Neither of us want to have to be the kind of monster that eats the living.

[rolling carefully over onto his back so he can look at Tristan]

[He makes a noise of pain. Though, not entirely pain. He inhales sharply, drops his other hand.]

[blinks at him and lets go to nose kind of greedily at his wrist. he didn't quite break skin—it was a love bite, not a feeding bite]

[He gently fluffs Kaito's hair and reaches into his pocked for a small container of clear liquid. He opens it and downs it completely, taking a breath and then setting it down.]

[kind of intrigued... Tristan really wasn't kidding about any of this. which the rest of him is massively upset about, but the rest of him is also so swamped with trying to figure out which of the feelings they're having are ones he wants to keep and which he needs to hand off that he can't really do much but fuss.]

How does it work? Does it have a time limit, or does it just keep fixing whatever happens to you until it's used up?
