KAITO: SHADOW GARBAGE AU EDITION OPEN POST
Because sometimes you love both the split personality and inner demons tropes way too much, and there's only one way to handle it.
THE AU IS RIDICULOUS, but all you really need to know is Kaito got humanity's malice dumped into his head along with ridiculous power, and his way of coping with both that and the trauma involved was to shove it all in with everything else he represses the heck out of and then completely dissociate himself from it. End result: what he thinks of as his inner monster has completely split off into a personality of its own, following the imagery and pattern left behind by the Shadow from that one time the Vocaloid Dressing Room had a Persona event.
(Please don't judge me.)
Feel free to pick a scenario, if you can't think of one just blank tag this sucker and I'll come up with something!
Warning! There will be a decently high probability of maiming in this post! If you're not okay with that, that's cool; just let me know in a comment header or something and I will have normal Kaito intervene. (Alternately, if you want to get mauled... well. All you have to do is ask :))

You gave me music, and played with and for me. You were the first person I really flirted with, or made out with, or found an objective with. You made me feel needed, and cared for as just... an ordinary person. And you... you listened to me talk. About Miku.
I will gladly take trouble for that.
[ by the time he finishes, he's back to the bass again. ]

[He just turns around and tucks his head against Kaito's shoulder, closing his eyes briefly and trying not to cry.]
[He's feeling a lot of emotions okay.]
no subject
...Don't feel like you have to hold that in. You made me breakfast; the least I can do is play personal handkerchief to you.
no subject
I don't mean to get you soggy. It's just hard to take in, how much that makes me happy.
[And he is happy, kind of awed and confused and overwhelemed.]
no subject
Good. ...Not that it's difficult to take in, but that you're happy. You make me happy, too.
no subject
I'm glad. I have always wanted to make you happy as you make me.

giving up on words for the moment and feeling, letting Tristan have his bone-deep contentment with having him in his arms, the flutter that comes with knowing he made Tristan happy, that Tristan wants him to be happy
...and all right, there's some of the distinctive heated rush of objectives being walked all over, but he's trying not to draw too much attention to that. ]
no subject
[And a bit of embarrassed sympathy about the objectives. It's weird feeling everything, it's vulnerable and exciting and makes him go red in the face.]
no subject
...even if they are kind of inconvenient. ]
...sorry. I might be able to admit affection, but it's still one of my stronger objectives. Maybe I should just stick to this...
[ dere ping, wrapping Tristan up a little tighter ]
no subject
[He is perfectly okay with feeling wrapped up in Kaito and holding him back accordingly. It's nicer than panicking. It makes him happy and feel wwarm and valued and he wants to give that feeling back.]
no subject
Aah, I won't argue that. Maybe I'll just soak you in that all week.
[ this is absolutely superior to a fussy Tristan, he agrees. he's just happy that Tristan's feeling that— he needs more of it. ]
no subject
[It's embarrassing and flustering enough as it is.]
no subject
I believe in you, Tristan. I'm sure you'll manage.
no subject
[Gently punches his arm. No heat in it, just flustered and embarrassed.]

Kaito...?

glancing to the side like he's trying to find a solution or at least a way out, that distress increasing as his arms loosen ]
no subject
[He's distressed now. Was what he said so bad? What did he even say? He hasn't thought of the strange binding magic beyond the empathic link in it since he noticed it, and Kaito's distress is distressing him.]

hissing in a sudden breath as the compulsion to keep his mouth shut abruptly gives ]
I told you not to give me direct orders.
no subject
[Oh he fucked up. He sits back quickly, out of Kaito's space, self-recriminating and guilty.]
I'm sorry.
no subject
...It's— I'll be okay. I just- I can't say no. So please be careful.
no subject
[What else can he say? He'll have to be incredibly aware of how he speaks, that's all. He's tense, scared of accidentally forcing something onto Kaito, but surely if he's very careful he won't do that again.]
no subject
Harvey's slipped up, too.
no subject
[He just. Pets Kaito's hair carefully.]
no subject
[ and that sentiment is a little too close to home for him not to grieve a bit with it. sighing. ]
