KAITO: SHADOW GARBAGE AU EDITION OPEN POST

Because sometimes you love both the split personality and inner demons tropes way too much, and there's only one way to handle it.

THE AU IS RIDICULOUS, but all you really need to know is Kaito got humanity's malice dumped into his head along with ridiculous power, and his way of coping with both that and the trauma involved was to shove it all in with everything else he represses the heck out of and then completely dissociate himself from it. End result: what he thinks of as his inner monster has completely split off into a personality of its own, following the imagery and pattern left behind by the Shadow from that one time the Vocaloid Dressing Room had a Persona event.

(Please don't judge me.)

Feel free to pick a scenario, if you can't think of one just blank tag this sucker and I'll come up with something!

[Bringing his hand up, curling his fingers in the fur of Kaito's ruff.]

But I'd take over. You'd definitely lose the Harvey you know.

[ just goes greedy at that admission, nosing at his face ]

I know, I know, you don't have what you'd need to be like us without breaking...

I still want you both. This isn't fair.

Letting me exist in the first place wasn't fair. The theater can be pretty brutal sometimes.

[ snaps his jaws, angry ]

[ NOT SOOTHED AT ALL. circling around behind him and flopping. wolfpillow. ]

[ makes a low, mostly noncommittal noise (don't thank him for letting go, don't) and noses at him some more. please ignore the tangled mess of Upset coming from over here ]

[harvey's actually kind of soaking up that upset. it's nice to know how much Kaito cares, even if it hurts him.

rolls off wolfpillow, though, so he's on his side when he shifts]

[ grumbling when he catches that but not... really bothering to object, or shift his own feelings. he likes Harvey, it'd be stupid to make him hurt too just for enjoying it, especially when he'd probably do the same.

(it's tempting, though. he does hurt a lot, and he hasn't been allowed to take himself out on anything for a while...)

seeing Harvey change is a distraction from that, though, and a cheering one— he wags a little as soon as he realizes that they're both canines, and leans in to sniff at him ]

We still match. ...Mostly. You're gorgeous.

[rolls onto his belly, ears perking up and too-long legs settling haphazardly.]

You always are, it's just more outward.

[ just gonna. reach over and gently grab Harvey by the muzzle. Harvey's probably the wrong type of wolf to recognize the gesture for what it is, but he is absolutely establishing dominance, thank you ]

I am definitely not gorgeous most of the time. I can accept being a pretty wolf, though.

[kind of pauses at that, though, definitely confused]

[ snorts in disagreement. UNREPENTANT, THOUGH: ]
