KAITO: SHADOW GARBAGE AU EDITION OPEN POST

Because sometimes you love both the split personality and inner demons tropes way too much, and there's only one way to handle it.

THE AU IS RIDICULOUS, but all you really need to know is Kaito got humanity's malice dumped into his head along with ridiculous power, and his way of coping with both that and the trauma involved was to shove it all in with everything else he represses the heck out of and then completely dissociate himself from it. End result: what he thinks of as his inner monster has completely split off into a personality of its own, following the imagery and pattern left behind by the Shadow from that one time the Vocaloid Dressing Room had a Persona event.

(Please don't judge me.)

Feel free to pick a scenario, if you can't think of one just blank tag this sucker and I'll come up with something!

Warning! There will be a decently high probability of maiming in this post! If you're not okay with that, that's cool; just let me know in a comment header or something and I will have normal Kaito intervene. (Alternately, if you want to get mauled... well. All you have to do is ask :))

[that is... pretty alarming, yes, and he quickly turns to go back the way he came. except that the way he came is a long expanse of hall without any convenient corners to duck around.

what he wanted to do was hide and be as quiet as possible (which is very quiet, given that he doesn't need to breathe), but seeing as that's not remotely an option, he backs away from the corner the noise is coming from, and braces to defend himself.]

[ there's another loud clank-scccccrape as the source of the noise slinks around the corner, dragging heavy chains. it's a wolf— or something that looks a lot like one, anyway. its proportions are a little off, like it's a child's drawing; the muzzle and legs are too long, and then there's the fact that it's at least as tall as Harvey is at the shoulder.

it's also taking one look at Harvey, its yellow eyes glowing sullenly in the low light... and pinning its ears back with a low whining grumble, looking frankly affronted. ]

...Don't look all pissy I'm worried after you come around the corner all creepily like that.

[frank, not really expecting a response, apparently a lot more conversational when he's talking to something he doesn't think will talk back.

standing his ground, at least, not edging away or anything.]

...he does not say, because he is intrigued by getting actual words out of Harvey and it's creepy when he tries to talk in this shape, anyway. settling for making a huffy noise, although the effect isn't quite the same when the air rushes into his mouth as soon as he opens it.

[ wags his tail briefly, and licks his chops lazily with another little hiss of indrawn air. sometimes you're a ravening pit of hunger and emptiness that can never be filled, and trying with monsters is a little bit better than people, okay

that doesn't explain why you're back down here, though. whuffling at him and whining :? ]

and the bindings are pretty worrying too...]

[ its skin is pretty raw-looking under the metal cuffs and the collar, obviously scarred up with the signs of old struggles.

on the other hand, there might be a reason for the chains. the source of those hissing breaths becomes pretty obvious as it opens its mouth to try to grab for Harvey's mostly empty sleeve— it's like there's a vacuum in there, the air whistling as it tugs at Harvey's clothes on its way to being pulled in ]

[freezes, only because flight isn't really an option. So Kaito gets his empty sleeve as Harvey struggles with the urge to bolt and sincerely hopes the monster knew that was empty.]

We've been over this, haven't we? I wouldn't taste good at all. Or do you just want my attention?

[ flattens his ears with another whine, and tugging. see? no eating here, so please stop smelling like fear and making me want to ]

[does settle down a bit with that reaction, taking a step forward as he's tugged.]
