KAITO: SHADOW GARBAGE AU EDITION OPEN POST

Because sometimes you love both the split personality and inner demons tropes way too much, and there's only one way to handle it.

THE AU IS RIDICULOUS, but all you really need to know is Kaito got humanity's malice dumped into his head along with ridiculous power, and his way of coping with both that and the trauma involved was to shove it all in with everything else he represses the heck out of and then completely dissociate himself from it. End result: what he thinks of as his inner monster has completely split off into a personality of its own, following the imagery and pattern left behind by the Shadow from that one time the Vocaloid Dressing Room had a Persona event.

(Please don't judge me.)

Feel free to pick a scenario, if you can't think of one just blank tag this sucker and I'll come up with something!

[He strokes Kaito's fur. It's been well past when the magic should have shut him down, but his cage remains open.]

You can plot your revenge to your heart's content. Imagine me dead for all I care, but keep him alive.

[ trotting for the door with much more ease than he'd had before Tristan had loosened the chains, toenails clicking gently on the floor. pausing before he paws it open ]

[Fine he'll. Sleep himself. Restless and annoyed and unsettled but still, sleep.]

[It'll be days before he calls for Kaito again.]

[ what answers that call is— well, he's not a wolf. but his eyes have that yellow glow ]

[He's surrounded by papers and files. They've collected on the bed and floor, a small desk he's set up is overflowing with them and he's on his back leafing through one absently, frown deepening at what he reads. He definitely hasn't gotten dressed, his hair is a rumpled mess and it's well after noon. He probably hasn't eaten, he seems quite preoccupied.]

[He looks over when Kaito enters though, and his expression doesn't lighten.]

You still? How long is he going to sulk?

[ grumbles ]

We've been trading off. He's just tired.

[ pausing. when he speaks again, it's back in his normal bass, not the more open tenor. also deeply reluctant ]

...have you eaten yet?

[He pauses briefly. Eating? Right that thing. It probably happened at some point he's sure. It usually does. He waves the question off with a flap of his hand.]

Are you good at accounting? Math?

[ oh god why. also, frowning; mother-henning isn't "protection," exactly, but it's close enough that he's unsure if he should push or not ]

I don't think so; I wasn't schooled. ...I do have a calculator built into me, so if it's only basic mathematics I could likely manage.

[Tristan sits up, a small avalanche of papers slides off him and he scowls, biting the edge of his thumb.]

Of course. Damn, how much do you know? Physics? Algebra? Biology? Geometry? You know music. What about your other subjects?
